Join As a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGOs)

ArabDev welcomes active NGOs working for community and civil society development in Egypt or any other Arab country. Membership is based on an active and serious track record of community development activities. Each ArabDev NGO member is interested to learn and get assistance in information and communication technologies (ICTs) for community development from the project to serve its communities better and to add build its own organizational capacity.

To become an ArabDev member the NGO pledges to provide contributions. To date ArabDev members provided office space, computer hardware and software, in some instances whole computer labs and their staff as in-kind contribution to the project. ArabDev works closely with each NGO to assist it in their special ICT needs and demands. This work includes training for NGO staff members, collaborating in preparing workplans and proposals for developmental initiatives that use ICT as a tool.

ArabDev Membership offers:

  • ICT Usage: An entry point for NGOs in the Arab region to use ICT for their developmental work
  • Community: Membership in a network of like-minded organizations in Egypt and the Arab region.
  • Solidarity: An Arab community of voices and support for the use of ICTs for development and environmental and cultural revival and preservation.
  • Peer Support and Information Exchange: Learning from one another's experiences, including technical support.
  • Collaboration Opportunities: in projects, service delivery and fundraising.
  • Capacity-Building Services: workshops, training, materials, access to ArabDev tools and online communication, use of the ArabDev Internet domain.
  • Exposure: ArabDev expands NGOs networks and promotes their work and concerns.
  • South-South Networking: among NGOs working in Arab countries with Arab communities to reach common developmental goals and have common experiences in striving for effective use of ICT.
